The Body Shop: British Rose – Body Yogurt | Review

I tried the shower gel from The Body Shop’s British Rose Range in 2016 when they recently launched that range in India, and since have been in love with that fragrance. I loved it so much I went on to buy their Body Mist from the same range (twice) and couldn’t stop raving about it. Looking at me gushing about it my BFF gifted me this Body Yogurt thinking I will love it for sure! Read ahead to find out if I did…

The product comes packed in a tub! If you know me I am not a fan of tubs because one needs to dip their fingers in and I find that not very hygienic. But I do see that this will help speed up the mornings ever so slightly, like TBS says Life’s too short for waiting – jump straight into your jeans.

The formula is very light – almost gel like! It spreads super quickly and a little covers a lot of surface area.

The best part about the product is its gentle refreshing smell. Whenever someone says Rose fragrance what comes to my mind is the strong Gulaab Jal (Rose water) smell but thank goodness this is nothing like that. It has very gentle yet invigorating rose smell which instantly lifts your mood in the mornings. I am not lying when I say, the first few days after I opened this product I went back to just take a quick whiff now and then! The downside is the smell doesn’t last. One can build it up with other products from the same range but I truly wish it lasted a little longer because it’s not often I like a scent that much!

The Body Shop British Rose Body Yogurt Review Consistency Texture Feel

The Body Shop British Rose Body Yogurt | Consistency, Texture and Feel

Speaking of efficacy I must say that I am not a person who has very dry skin so the amount of hydration this offers is enough for me. But if you have dry skin you will definitely find this to be lacking on the hydration front. After application it gets absorbed into the skin quickly and the skin feels soft and refreshed. During the summer months I hate applying any kind of cream or lotion but this is light enough to motivate me to use it even during the warmer months. I like the light gel like consistency quite a bit and also sometimes use it on my face!

Pros:

  • The Refreshing Smell
  • Light Formula that absorbs quickly.
  • Cruelty Free

Cons:

  • Contains Silicone
  • Pricy for the amount of product in the tub.
  • Low on hydration.
  • Scent doesn’t last.

Closing Thoughts

My BFF was right after all! I do like it especially for its fragrance & light hydration it offers. This is a great product for someone on the go, who doesn’t have time for lotion to be “rubbed in”. The yogurt formula is lighter than a typical lotion/ cream/ body butter. It’s smells fantastic and feels good on the skin. The only downside I find is that it doesn’t feel like it moisturizes for long especially during the winters. Folks with dry skin will find it very low on hydration so they should consider the body butter instead.

This product looks really good for the skin! Do you know if they sell Body Yogurts all over the world? We have The Body Shop here in Japan but I don’t know if it has Body Yogurt.
