BB Creams have been big on the Beauty Scene for a while. The concept of BB cream is great since they are promoted as an all-in-one facial cosmetic product to replace serum, moisturizer, primer, foundation and sunblock. Who wouldn’t want skin care and some coverage in one product. When they initially launched in India I tried out the BB creams from Keihl’s and Maybelline but was not impressed. Fast forward to now and I am happy to say L.A Girl is changing my perspective.

L.A Girl Pro BB Cream | Packaging

L.A Girl Pro BB Cream | Package
It is packaged in a no-nonsense transparent plastic tube. A glossy sticker, black in color with the product name printed on it is stuck around it and the slit in the plastic sticker shows the shade. One needs to be careful with the pressure they apply on the tube to dispense product, if too much comes out it cant be put back in!
The product has liquid consistency, its light but not very runny. It spreads wonderfully and gives a relatively high coverage almost like some foundations I have tried. Since its easy to spread you can use your fingers but a brush/sponge will give a smoother and even finish. I apply it with my Real Techniques Kabuki.

I like that this BB cream has no fragrance because strong scents tend to irritate my system. There are 8 shades to choose from, I got the Medium. The ‘burnt child’ in me thought like other brands they must say medium but it will turn out to be light; but I was happy to be proven wrong. It is true to its name and unfortunately its a little dark for me. Nevertheless I don’t have a problem with looking a little tan. It gives a satin finish. I like my face matte so I set it with my Studio Fix pressed powder. The product claims to be moisturizing but the finish is far better when you prep your skin with a moisturizer prior to application. It wears for a good 5-7 hours and does not crease when set with a powder.

Update – 10 April 2017
I recently repurchased this BB cream in the shade GBB 944 Neutral since Medium was slightly darker for me. It has the same quality and Neutral Shade matches me perfectly. ( I am a NC 40 in MAC Colour term)

Great review! I also just got the medium thinking it would match… Too bad I didn’t check this post on time! It’s also too dark for me, 🙁
A question: is neutral yellow toned? I was thinking of buying light medium but it looked too pink toned for me(even saw it on Indian skin in a video). If neutral is yellow toned, I’m hoping it would match me too perfectly! Awaiting your reply 🙂
Aaru,
Thanks for stopping by 🙂
Neutral is slightly yellow toned. Its absolutely a perfect match for me. I dont show my face a lot but you might find some shots on my instagram- if you wanna compare. Also I am around NC 39 in the MAC shades – so if you are close Neutral will work great. Hope I am of some help.
Keep swinging by – Dont be a stranger <3
Thank you ! Were you by any chance able to swatch light medium too?
Also, I don’t know exactly, but I do think I’m NC 40 too…I’m Estee Lauder double wear in 3w2 cashew, which has been the best match there could ever be for my skin. Would you happen to have any idea ?
I think Neutral will work for you. I remember not considering light medium because it seemed too light. Never tried double wear though although cashew seems the most popular shade with the folks I know.

Ahh I’m so glad that I found your blog, I was just searching about the shades for me and turned out we’re the same shade in Mac! Thanks for writing and updating this!!
Glad I could be of help! Now that we have established we are the same shade you should check out the Swatch Gallery for other colour cosmetics that might suit you. <3
Do you think medium would suit deeper skin tones like NC 42-44?
Yes, I believe so. Its sheer so it will blend well too.
