Maybelline keeps reinventing its very popular and much-loved “Baby Lips” franchise with new packaging/ colour/ formula etc. at a pace that no one can keep up! Also goes out to show the present beauty-consumer’s insatiable appetite for the “New & Improved”! Admittedly I am also one of those consumer’s so I checked out the Grape Fruit variety of the Baby Lips Candy Wow.

It gives a sheer coat of peach colour and has considerable pigment for a lip balm, although I would not recommend it to the folks with pigmented lips. It applies patchy, so don’t expect an even layer throughout. Due to the high amount of oil/wax it melts (a lot). Definitely don’t carry it around in the bag in hot/ humid climates. It’s very soft and prone to breakage so I would suggest you don’t retract it out a lot. Despite this, it is not very hydrating and needs frequent re-application. Forget about it surviving a meal! When it had launched it was retailing for 500+ INR and now after a few months the prices seem to have come down significantly!

In my opinion there are much better tinted lip balms out there for a much lesser price, Maybelline definitely has missed the mark with this one!

I am a huge fan of the original Baby Lips Formula and especially prefer the non-tinted one but unfortunately the Candy Wow Range did not work for me!
