I go really slow with my Shower Gels, I don’t use much at one-go so a standard size bottle lasts me for many months but on the contrary husband dearest goes through them at top speed and I am talking about random super-market stuff which is probably full of harsh ingredients like Sulphates and Triclosan. To help the situation I thought I should explore relatively safer options. So during the Kronokare sale I had to get one for him & one for myself. I chose 500 ml bottles of All is Well and Revive & Thrive but ended up getting sent 10 bottles of 100 ml each! But this way I got to try both.
Kronokare as a brand never really caught my attention for some reason, probably because of their high price point for a fairly simple ingredient list and lack-luster packaging! But since things were on sale I thought I should really test out the products to see if my first impression was right.
The Brand:
Kronokare claims to be “The most French Indian Brand”. The brand derives its name from Chronos, the God of Time in Greek mythology. It is a relatively new brand, founded in 2008 by a French man Cyril Feuillebois. His vision was to create a natural, effective, and fuss free line of products which is a mix of the best from both India and France.
It is made in India, and claims to formulate products with native flora, extracted pure essential oils, rare botanical extracts, and seed oils sourced from France and India.
Price:
495 INR for 320 ml.

All is Well – Here & Revive & Thrive– Here
Product Description:
All is Well –While requiring purification, damaged skins must avoid at all time aggressive cleansing. Our Lavender body wash offers a daily gentle cleansing to irritated skin while nourishing it with pure seed oil, botanical extracts and Vitamin E. So don’t worry, all is well! (meant for normal to damaged skin)
Revive & Thrive- Oily skin or dull skin both requires efficient and gentle cleansing. The fluid circulation needs to be stimulated while the sebaceous glands need to be smoothed.
Our sulphate free body wash delivers to the skin both some sebum regulating ginger extract and some moisturizing glycerin. The freshness and glow is back on your skin, you are ready to revive and thrive! (Meant for Normal to oily or dull skin)
Ingredients:
Base ingredients for both: Aqua, Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulphonate, Cocoamidopropyl Betaine, Cocamide Mea, Polysorbate 80, Parfum, Peg 150 Distearate, Glycerine, Betaine, Polyquaternium 73, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, CI 42090, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Magnesium Chloride, Magnesium Nitrate and
+All is Well: Lavendula Angustifolia (Lavender) Oil, Thymus Vulgaris (Thyme) Leef Oil, Linalool, Butylphenyl Methylpropional.
+ Revive and Thrive: Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Root Oil, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Oil, Limonene.
It comes packaged in a translucent plastic bottle with a screw on cap that has a flip top. Even though I got the smaller bottle I am glad the brand didn’t give up on the flip top because early morning in the shower nobody really wants to bother with the screw on cap.
Similar to other Kronokare products these shower gels have a very strong herbal scent. All is Well is dominated by Lavender and Revive and Thrive by Spicy Ginger. Both have intense invigorating fragrances. I am not personally fond of intense herbal scents but they fades quickly and don’t bother me after the first few minutes. Out of the two I prefer the Revive & Thrive for its spicy notes.
These are of a gel consistency but are not too runny so one need not worry about excess product being dispensed. All is Well is of a pretty lavender colour and Revive and Thrive has a hazy Amber shade.
Both are meant for a different skin type but personally I don’t think that holds great validity because the difference in ingredients is slight. Only the essential oils are different and considering they are listed right at the bottom of the ingredient list the amount of those is bound to be very low.
Regardless of the above both do a great job of gently cleansing the skin with medium amount of foam. The skin feels clean & refreshed without the sense of dryness that is often the case with many shower gels.
Pros:
- Effective yet gentle.
- Cruelty Free
- Silicone, Paraben, Sulphate & Mineral Oil free. (Click on the links to understand why this is a big pro)
- Made in India
Cons:
- Not available easily in stores.
- Pricey for a relatively simple ingredient list and ordinary packaging.
Closing Thoughts:
I enjoyed using both of these and if you are looking for something gentle with an intense fragrance for the upcoming summer this can be a really good option.
