I am always on the look out for good sunscreens and an Indian brand’s (rather heavy handed) Social media marketing caught my eye. Suddenly there has been a rapid rise of indie brands that are mostly all about marketing and less about performance so I was curious to see how this Invisible Sunscreen from SunScoop will fare.
About the Brand
Innovist is a cosmetic company that owns hair care brand Bare Anatomy and skin care brand Chemist at Play. In April of 2022 , the company launched its third brand, SunScoop, a sun care brand. They claim to be India’s first and only SPF focussed brand with the mission to educate everyone about the importance of wearing sunscreen.
At SunScoop, we ensure that only the right ingredients backed by constant research and safety profile are used in our products that promise to protect your skin against the sun’s wrath, (and gadgets-emitted blue light) while tackling common skin woes.

My Experience
It comes packed in a tube which is great and the tube also has a more conical outlet which regulates the flow. I am glad the brand invested in this little detail because the thin gel like formula needs to be regulated otherwise one would end up with too much product!
The best part about this is the amazing transparent gel like texture, its light and spreads like a dream. It vanishes over the skin without any white cast or tackiness. Due to that property a little bit seems enough to cover the face and neck but since there is no way to tell I am never sure if I have covered all the areas well. It feels like nothing on the skin once it settles. It does have a primer-ey feel to it and layers well above skincare and below makeup. My skin leans towards the oily side, especially T-zone when I am out and about in the sun, so most sunscreens make me look quite greasy but not this one! I also feel that this sunscreen will be suitable for most skin types. The absolute best part is that it has no fragrance.
In the video below check out the wonderful transparent texture and how it absolutely sinks into the skin with no visible traces.
Pros:
- Lovely Consistency and texture without compromising the sun protection.
- No white cast
- Does not make one greasy or tacky – truly an invisible sunscreen
- Layers well between skincare & makeup.
Cons:
- Since there is no way to tell I am never sure if I have covered all the areas well.
- Slight Chemical smell.
- Not hydrating as claimed
Closing Thoughts:
The invisible sunscreen itself is unlike any other I have used! And I have used quite a few. (See here, here, here & here) It’s gel like in texture spreads over the skin easily and sinks in quickly; leaving no stickiness or white cast. It sits nicely over my moisturiser and under makeup. I can’t find anything negative to say here and that doesn’t happen often! If this is available in your part of the world stock up right away!
If you have used this I would love to know your thoughts. Also if you have any other sunscreen recommendations for me, I am all ears. Let me know in the comments. You can also find me on Instagram where I share my beauty & lifestyle finds regularly.
“Such an enlightening read! It’s truly a blessing to stumble upon a comprehensive blog that covers the best of both worlds – skin and hair treatments.
