I have always loved perfume, the bottles, its colour and the scent within always intrigued me. I also find the whole science behind it very interesting. Its amazing how each fragrance wears differently on different people. For this very reason I am almost always weary of giving and receiving perfumes as gifts. But I got this one as a gift from a close friend and its changing my opinion about receiving perfumes as a present.

About the fragrance: Burberry Body Gold Limited Edition by Burberry is an Oriental Floral fragrance for women. Burberry Body Gold Limited Edition was launched in 2013.
- Top notes are peach, freesia and wormwood.
- Middle notes are iris, rose and sandalwood.
- Base notes are cashmere, musk, amber and vanilla
The packaging is stunning. The bottle has been designed by Christopher Bailey who is also the creative director of the brand. The perfume comes in a very intense and contemporary looking skinny glass bottle with a gradient running from bottom to top. The bottle has many facets representative of precious stone. The cap is similarly multifaceted with a gold in-lay which has the signature Burberry check engraved on it. The jewel-like, elegant and feminine design gives a feeling of absolute luxury. I think I love the package more than the perfume.
The perfume opens with loud top note, Freesia screams FRESH FRESH FRESH! I can’t detect any peach and I don’t really know what wormwood smells like! The opening intensity is overwhelming at first but then in sometime it settles into a rose-y heart, still quite fresh but not as intense as earlier. Gradually a warmth starts coming in, like how expensive whisky smells after a while! The base is a musky – woody, slightly warm, with a soft finish and just a hint of vanilla.
It’s a warm floral scent is ideal for winter evenings and special occasions. The sharp opening is its distinctive mark and once it has mellowed it’s reasonably wearable. The lasting power is pretty decent.
Closing Thoughts:
It is a refined sophisticated fragrance which also makes it a great gift. The drama value of the packaging is top-notch and the perfume keeps up with the beautiful package. Have you tried any perfumes from Burberry? Let me know your experience in the comments.
