As I mentioned in some of my previous posts I am always on the look out for affordable alternatives of the high-end products and another such attempt was made here. In theory the Fit ME range by Maybelline makes great sense but as usual India Market did not get the full shade-range, which was quite disappointing. Out of the one’s available I was able to try the Shade 330 Toffee Caramel.

Organic Harvest: Lip Therapy | Review
Since forever I have been trying to find a lip balm that works for me. I am one those miserable people who have chapped lips all year round and have tried lip balms from various brands and many-many home remedies. So far the only product that has some effect is an over-night slathering of the transparent Baby Lips from Maybelline. Now that I am consciously trying to transition towards natural and organic products, this time I decided to give Organic Harvest a shot.

OMG! Vitamin C
The “OMG – Ingredient to Know” posts on my blog were not something that was meant to be a series mostly because these posts demand extensive research and added pressure to keep it as accurate as possible. Along with that significant amount of effort into simplifying the chemical-terminology laden language and squeezing it into a crisp write-up has been challenging. But I have been receiving wonderful response and thanks to the heaps of great feedback I plan to continue this series. On a friend’s special request the ingredient in spotlight this time is Vitamin-C.
Burberry Body – Gold Limited Edition EDP| Review
I have always loved perfume, the bottles, its colour and the scent within always intrigued me. I also find the whole science behind it very interesting. Its amazing how each fragrance wears differently on different people. For this very reason I am almost always weary of giving and receiving perfumes as gifts. But I got this one as a gift from a close friend and its changing my opinion about receiving perfumes as a present.
Juicy Chemistry: Red Raspberry Seed & Spearmint Day Cream | Review
Lately I have been cultivating the habit of reading ingredient lists on products and getting more and more anxious everyday about their harmful chemical contents. Silicones, Sulphates, Parabens are common ingredients, just to name a few and all are highly notorious for their ill effects. A lot of people have been asking for natural and cruelty free recommendations so I was quite happy to come across Juicy Chemistry.
Bioderma: Hydrabio Légère| Review
I am the biggest fan of Bioderma Sensibio H2O, it has changed my perspective towards wearing makeup and more importantly removing makeup. So with that for background, I was over the moon when I won a Bioderma USA’s (very generous) Instagram Giveaway. In that I recieved two bottles of the treatment moisturisers from the Hydrabio range, the Hydrabio Légère (Normal to combination dehydrated sensitive skin) & Hydrabio Riche for (Dry and very dry dehydrated sensitive skin) and Hydrabio H2O miceller solution. I have been using the Hydrabio Légère since and I am impressed.

Shalocks Hair Oil – an unexpected winner!
I have never been a fan of oiling my hair. For a large part of my life I went without ever oiling my hair, which gradually had its repercussion and so began the quest of finding an oil that was more than just a colossal pain to wash off. I came across this one only by chance when the shopkeeper of a very busy wholesale beauty supply store pushed it on me. I almost didn’t buy it because of its price but my doting Ma bought it for me. Perhaps she thought maybe this will get her daughter to oil her hair, and it definitely did!
The Body Shop: White Musk Smoky Rose Body Mist – Review
In the past few years I have become very sensitive to smells. In my teen years I wouldn’t mind wearing the strongest of perfumes and still be upbeat and functional. But lately I cant do that anymore, most strong scents annoy my system and I start feeling sick or develop a mild head ache. Moreover with age I feel ones taste in fragrance also changes, rather develops! I have started to understand that I am drawn to warm, woody , amber-y balsamic fragrances. So, today I am reviewing one such fragrance that I came across only by chance.
OMG! Triclosan
Couple of months back the FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) ruling about prohibition of the sale of “consumer antiseptic washes” containing Triclosan or 18 other ingredients marketed as antimicrobial was rocking the beauty and personal care product world. Looking further into Triclosan I found that it is yet another notorious ingredient that we all need to watch out for. Read ahead for what I dug up. Continue reading
