Chanel 2.55

Today I am taking a look at yet another iconic piece of design, fashion design to be accurate. Amongst the many fields of Design, fashion is very popular and easily understood by laymen. Especially in India if you say ” I am a Designer”, majority will think “Haan kapde silti hogi” (must be sewing clothes), and assume you are a Fashion Designer. For this (amongst other) reason designers from other design disciplines tend to take fashion design with a pinch of salt. But like any other field of design be it Industrial or Furniture, Fashion Design also has the same core values and the final outcome is a reflection of the designer and their inspiration. Of course the Form vs. Function debate is also very valid in the field of Fashion Design. So today I am taking a look at one such piece of iconic design that was born out of necessity and went on to become an icon in the world of Fashion Design – The Chanel 2.55 Handbag.

Hello Kitty’s World Domination

Recently a very special munchkin came into my life and I wanted to buy a soft toy for her, my first choice was a cute cow because “Gaay humari maata hai” and the socio-political weather in India calls for every child and adult to know this by heart! But looked like the Cow Plush was very popular and was out of stock in no time. So  I bought a Hello Kitty instead, but the munchkin’s mummy didnt know what a high roller Hello Kitty was in the world of Graphic Design! So I thought along with her I will take you guys on this introductory journey through the world of this cute white cat which strangely has no mouth and yet is the most recognisable graphic on this planet.

Bio Oil – Thoughts & First Impression

I have been using Bio Oil since September 2016 and have gone through 3/4th of the bottle yet I am not sure if I should review it already, so I am calling this post a “Thoughts & First Impression”. Also I see a lot of folks going through many bottles and claiming miraculous results so I have decided to wait for the miracle. (That is not sarcasm- I just felt the need to clarify!)

The Body Shop: White Musk Smoky Rose Body Mist – Review

In the past few years I have become very sensitive to smells. In my teen years I wouldn’t mind wearing the strongest of perfumes and still be upbeat and functional. But lately I cant do that anymore, most strong scents annoy my system and I start feeling sick or develop a mild head ache. Moreover with age I feel ones taste in fragrance also changes, rather develops! I have started to understand that I am drawn to warm, woody , amber-y balsamic fragrances. So, today I am reviewing one such fragrance that I came across only by chance.

The Body Shop: British Rose – Shower Gel | Review

Today I am reviewing a shower gel from The Body Shop’s British Rose Range. This range launched a few months back and I had run out of shower gel so I was on a look out for a replacement. I am not a fan of the majority of TBS bath and body care fragrances but lately they are surprising me.

OMG! Triclosan

Couple of months back the FDA (U.S. Food and Drug Administration) ruling about prohibition of the sale of “consumer antiseptic washes” containing Triclosan or 18 other ingredients marketed as antimicrobial was rocking the beauty and personal care product world. Looking further into Triclosan I found that it is yet another notorious ingredient that we all need to watch out for. Read ahead for what I dug up. Continue reading
